NME Reader Profile Inspiration

I found this profile by using the IPC Media website, and on this website are all the brands that IPC produce. There are over 85 media brands that you can research on this website. I decided to choose NME because a lot of young people/students read it, 34% are students to be precise, with a median age of 23. This profile also has a mood board at the top of the page which contains images of what the readers' main interests are based on figures of readership etc. i decided to use this as a catalyst for my mood board which i created and I basically did the same as NME did. Firstly though, we had to come up with questionaires which would help determine who our target audeince would be and then once we had asked a certain amount of people, we had to convert this information into graphs. In total we asked approximately 100 people from in and around college.

Audience Profile

Who are "IPC Media" and what do they do?

IPC Media produces over 85 iconic media brands, with print brands alone reaching almost two thirds of UK women and 44% of UK men –almost 27 million UK adults – while online brands collectively reach 20 million users every month.

IPC's diverse print and digital portfolio offers something for everyone, with a focus on three core audiences: men, mass market women and upmarket women.

Pick Me Up is the woman’s weekly magazine that sparkles with originality and warmth and sets the pace in the Real Life sector. It always provokes a smile, and takes you to a place where it is fun to be. Upbeat, vibrant and fun, it’s an intense package of the best real life stories and puzzles. The image above shows the audience profile for the magazine "Pick Me Up". the reason behind IPC Media doing this is to show potential advertisers a bit of information about the readers of the magazines so that advertisers can decide whether this is the correct magazine to advertise their products.
